This example compares a file containing 111 and 222 with a file containing only 222.
- The first line identifies the Git diff format.
- The index line contains the Git object hashes.
- The --- and +++ lines identify the original and updated files.
- The @@ header identifies the affected line ranges.
- The remaining lines show the changes.
